Our Story

How DAGA Foundation Began

The seeds of DAGA Foundation were sown by the alumni of Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krushi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli — one of Maharashtra's premier agricultural universities. Graduates from the 1990–2015 batch, scattered across government departments, agri-businesses, banks, and allied fields, remained connected by a bond stronger than professional ties.

In 2018, this bond transformed into purpose. Recognising the vulnerability of farmers and rural communities to natural disasters and socio-economic hardship, the alumni formally registered the Dapoli Agri. Graduates Association under the Maharashtra Societies Registration Act — and DAGA Foundation was born.

The tagline "Bonding Beyond Blood Relations" captures the spirit perfectly: people united not by family, but by shared values of service, empathy, and responsibility toward the society that shaped them.

Our Mission

To provide timely disaster relief, promote education, and support community welfare for underprivileged families in rural Maharashtra — particularly flood and drought affected agricultural communities.

Our Vision

A Maharashtra where no farming family faces a crisis alone — where agricultural alumni and society work hand-in-hand to build resilient, self-sufficient communities.

Our Values

Transparency, empathy, community ownership, and action. Every rupee donated and every hour volunteered goes directly to those in need — no bureaucracy, no delay.

Key Activities

Flood Relief — Lakhee Village (2025)

After severe floods inundated Lakhee village in Ta. Paranda, Dist. Dharashiv, DAGA Foundation members personally visited every affected household, distributing 10-day grocery kits containing rice, wheat, lentils, sugar, oil, spices and salt to hundreds of families. Two separate relief drives were conducted.

Sports Kit Distribution — Suyajinath Maharaj Vidyalaya

The Foundation supported young athletes at Shri Suyajinath Maharaj Vidyalaya, Vadmukhwadi, by distributing T-shirts, water bottles, napkins, anklets and kit bags to the school's Kho-Kho team.

Annual Alumni Sneh Melawa — Khadakwasla, Pune

The annual gathering of Dapoli Krushi Vidyapeeth alumni (1990–2015 batch) at Khadakwasla includes a free health checkup camp (in collaboration with Sarthak Wellness Centre), a blood donation drive, felicitation of outstanding agricultural graduates, and fundraising for flood and drought victims.

Blood Donation & Health Camps

Regular blood donation camps and free health checkups are a cornerstone of DAGA Foundation's community health initiative, helping connect rural residents with preventive healthcare.

Drought Relief Support

The Foundation also extends support to drought-affected farming families, providing aid and advocacy alongside its flood relief operations.

DAGA Foundation is run entirely by volunteers — alumni of Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krushi Vidyapeeth who dedicate their time and resources to community service.
